{Fresh 48} Hospital Portraits: Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake Newborn Photographer
Do you remember those first amazing 48 hours after your child’s birth? I barely do! My son was 10 pounds 3 ounces and was stubborn not to enter the world in a timely fashion. So after his birth, I was exhausted after 27 hours of labor and I was on a heavy dose of pain meds. I wish I would have documented those first few hours. Instead I just wanted to hold my baby and take a long long nap. IF I was ever to get pregnant again (and I said IF) I would absolutely hire a birth photographer to document the entire process.
The {Fresh 48} was designed as a special session for those new families who want the first few hours of their newborn’s life captured without having the entire labor or birth documented. I will come to your place of birth within the first 24-48 hours of your baby’s life. The {FRESH 48} session is perfect for remembering all those amazing details of your baby right after birth. Your baby will be changing hour to hour, day to day. These lifestyle sessions are a great alternative to a birth session when you still want fresh baby pictures but prefer a little more of a controlled photography experience. The {FRESH 48} allows you to shower, rest, eat a good meal and get dressed after birth so you feel more like you and are ready to make memories of those precious firsts with your baby.
This is not a traditional newborn session; I will not pose the baby or bring props or lights. This will just be me capturing your baby’s sweet new moments in a fresh natural way! I use only natural light with sessions during daytime hours. I simply capture images of some of your first hours and special moments with your baby as you naturally interact with them and bond. While I am there I may capture first milestones: meeting siblings, grandparents and other family members and friends; breastfeeding; a first diaper change; locking eyes for the first time; a first bath; the possibilities are endless! The first 48 hours of your baby’s life are magical, where everything is new, everyone is overjoyed and lighthearted. Through my lens I can capture those emotions beautifully and artistically so you will always have them and to feel that special joy.
HOW IT ALL WORKS:
Its simple! I do prebook these sessions so I am available within the first two days after birth. I use your estimated due date and just like with my birth sessions allow a “window” where I do not to travel too far from home. But if you did not prebook do not fret!! I much of the time get calls straight from the hospital with families that decided at the last minute to want a {FRESH 48} and I haven’t turned one away yet! Who knows when you call…I may already be there just down the hall! When you prebook your session fee is due at that time. If you do not prebook your session fee is due at the time of services at the hospital. Your session lasts a half hour to 45 minutes and comes with 10 portraits with a mixture of b&w and soft color images and a Portrait Video. Also you can announce your baby with some of these beautiful pictures via a blog post of them I will do in just hours after the session. You can share the blog post on your facebook or twitter too!
